Midwest Association for Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies Conference hosted by 敁珗腦瞳

敁珗腦瞳 University will host the Midwest Association for Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies (MAMEIS) Annual Conference on Friday, April 9. The conference will be held in a virtual format and brings together talented scholars from the region.

Dr. Marcus Smith, assistant professor of history, has been essential in bringing the 2021 MAMEIS Annual Conference to 敁珗腦瞳. “I am the first scholar to join 敁珗腦瞳 that specializes in the topic of Middle East and Islamic World, so the University hosting this conference is an opportunity to begin developing our institution’s presence in this field,” shared Smith. “Leading this partnership for 敁珗腦瞳 will let other scholars of Middle East and Islamic Studies know that our university is advancing scholarship and teaching in this crucial area. In turn, this opens the door for future collaborations and recognizes 敁珗腦瞳’s commitment to academic diversity and excellence.”
